Easy At Home Biscuit Doughnuts

YUM!  These quick and easy 'doughnuts' were delicious!  The best part of this weeks' tutorial is that Husband did the whole thing with me!  I love when he takes part in my adventures :)  I won't delay, let me share with you the goodness...

What you need:

1 can of biscuits {We used Pillsbury Homestyle}
Oil
Pot suitable for frying with oil
Your choice of toppings {We used cinnamon, sugar & powdered sugar}

Here's how it goes:

1. Open your can of biscuits {if you are terrified of it like I am, find a big strong {handsome} man to open it for you...I did that ;) }.

The "pop" that comes from this is terrifying!

2. Pour a small amount of oil in your pot & begin shaping your "doughnuts"
    {We tried 2 shapes, the actual doughnut shape & cutting each biscuit into quarters, making triangles}

3. Begin frying your "doughnuts" {I forgot to mention above...make sure you have an area, or plate, set aside that is lined with paper towels so you have a place to put the cooked dough!}

triangles first!

then the real doughnuts!

4. Once fried, sprinkle your toppings on the hot treats & wait for them to be cool enough to eat!

These quick & easy little treats were fun to make and even more fun to eat!  Husband and I discussed it and, we want to see how difficult it is to make our own dough and do the whole thing homemade.  Also, he suggested trying melted chocolate as a topping and letting it set before eating.  BUT, for how easy this was...they were pretty darn good!

Let me know how yours turn out!

  1. We've made these quite a bit. One thing you need to remember is watch your oil temp!!! I have cooked the outside till tannish/brown and then realized the inside wasn't done. Oops!
